26 April is International Intellectual Property Day. On this occasion, ICC Poland – the Polish National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce – and CANAL+ Poland, in cooperation with the Signal Association, organised an international meeting in Warsaw on cross-industry cooperation in the field of intellectual property protection.
On 8-9 September 2022, the 13th conference on the dangers of using modern technologies was held in Sanok. The Sygnal Association was represented by Jakub Kupniewski and Zbigniew Taras, whose topic of presentation was theft of TV content on the Internet. The conference was organised by the Institute of Social Sciences of the Jan Grodek State University in Sanok and the Provincial Police Headquarters in Rzeszów.
How much and what pirated video content did internet users consume during the pandemic period? What is the remedy in practice for sharing and streaming cases? Does cutting off pirate sites from funding sources effectively shut down their activities? These questions were answered by speakers representing the Signal Association at the scientific conference ‘ICT Crime of the 21st Century’ at the Naval Academy in Gdynia on 15 June 2022.
In Warsaw on March 9-10 the 12th TIME Economic Forum was held. Teresa Wierzbowska, president of Sygnał, took part in the discussion about the digital tax, the code of digital services and audiovisual and copyright directives.
On October 10-11 In Ossa near Rawa Mazowiecka took place a conference “Counteracting theft of television signal” co-organized by the Sygnał and the National Police Headquarters. During the second edition of the conference, more than a hundred policemen, prosecutors and representatives of the media market met to discuss the scale of piracy and how to combat it.
Teresa Wierzbowska, the President of Sygnał presented speech during the conference of the Polish National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) concerning how effectively the advertising industry in Poland has regulated the issue of money going to entities receiving revenues from illegal distribution of content on the Internet.
The protection of the works on the Internet, card sharing, jurisdiction concerning the cutting off the pirate websites from funding sources are topics presented by the Signal Association during the scientific conference “ICT Crime XXI.2” at the Naval Academy in Gdynia on June 18th, 2019.
