Police officers from the Central Office for Combating Cybercrime have brought an end to a major pirate site offering films and series. Two men were charged with illegal distribution of copyrighted works. The originator and owner of the service was temporarily arrested. The total amount of damage resulting from the operation of the service is estimated by the wronged parties at several million zlotys.

A 25-year-old who illegally distributed thousands of films on the Internet and charged fees for watching them has to pay the copyright owners over  47 million zloty. The Court of Appeal in Białystok upheld the sentence of first instance, which sentenced him to a suspended year in prison.

The District Court in Wieliczka has  sentenced a man for illegal sharing of the signal (control word sharing) of Canal + and Cyfrowy Polsat TV platforms over the Internet. The operators received 526.3 thousand zloty as a compensation.

Policemen from the Cybercrime Unit of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Lublin  carried out official activities in a case concerning the activities of a group of people involved in the illegal provision of digital television signals using non-authorized devices, used for  cardsharing.
