Police officers from the Kraków district have shut down an illegal TV signal distribution point using the “sharing” method of two pay digital platforms, and detained a 49-year-old from Kraków.
During the operation, which took place on June 25 this year, the infrastructure used for this procedure, located, among other things, in the suspect’s kitchen and living room cabinets, was secured. The operation involved an IT expert and a representative of the Sygnal Association, as well as a police forensic technician. The equipment acted as “sharing” servers for illegally sharing TV signals. Losses to media companies were estimated at about PLN 65 000. The men face up to three years in prison for providing unauthorized services.
