Piracy’s manifestations
In the 90ies when the multi channeled television was just developing the phenomenon of piracy was associated with CDs multiplications, sharing of cable signal, smart cards’ duplications and STBs’ modifications. Nowadays piracy consists in particular of illegal online distribution of TV signal (so called sharing and streaming). Not only the individual TV programmes, films and sports coverage have become the subject of theft but rather the whole TV channels.
A vast majority of the pirates’ services gain profits from the content they offer illegaly.
